Madhya Pradesh Increases Monthly Assistance Under Ladli Behna Yojana — Here’s What’s Changing from November
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major festive update under its flagship welfare initiative, Ladli Behna Yojana. Starting November 2025, women beneficiaries will receive ₹1,500 per month directly into their bank accounts — an increase of ₹250 from the earlier ₹1,250. This move aims to strengthen women’s financial independence and ease their household expenses, bringing joy and relief just in time for Diwali.
Monthly Assistance Increased to ₹1,500Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav declared the new benefit during a state event, confirming that the revised payment structure would be effective from October and November 2025. The October installment included an additional ₹250, credited to beneficiaries’ accounts on Bhai Dooj (October 23) as part of the 29th installment of the scheme. With this increase, every eligible woman in Madhya Pradesh will now receive ₹1,500 per month, beginning with the November payment cycle.
The Chief Minister also shared that the ₹250 festive bonus, traditionally given as a token on Bhai Dooj, has been merged into the November installment. This ensures that beneficiaries will continue to receive a consolidated monthly transfer, simplifying the process while maintaining the spirit of the festival.
When Will the Funds Be Credited?According to government officials, the new amount will start reflecting in women’s accounts from November 2025 onwards. The payment will be made directly through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and timely disbursement. Over time, the government plans to increase this amount further, with a long-term goal of providing up to ₹3,000 per month by the end of the fiscal year.
A Step Toward Women’s EmpowermentLaunched as a social welfare initiative, the Ladli Behna Yojana has been instrumental in improving the economic stability of women across Madhya Pradesh. The program’s primary goal is to empower women financially, enabling them to support their families, invest in children’s education, and participate more actively in the economy.
Since its inception, the scheme has transferred over ₹44,917 crore directly into the accounts of eligible women. The Madhya Pradesh government plans to extend its reach further by 2028, ensuring that every eligible woman in the state benefits from the initiative.
How Beneficiaries Can Check Their StatusWomen who have applied for the scheme but are unsure about their enrollment can verify their status on the official Ladli Behna Yojana portal. Beneficiaries need to enter their registered mobile number and verify through a one-time password (OTP) to confirm their inclusion in the final beneficiary list. Only women listed there will receive the funds directly in their bank accounts.
Growing Impact on Rural and Urban WomenThe monthly assistance has proven to be a game-changer for many women, particularly in rural and low-income households. It has not only reduced financial stress but also helped many families manage daily expenses without external debt. Women are using the funds for groceries, school fees, and small-scale entrepreneurship, boosting the overall standard of living.
Government’s Vision for the FutureThe Yadav administration aims to continue expanding the program’s benefits. Plans are underway to link it with skill development and self-employment initiatives, allowing women to use this financial support as a foundation for sustainable income generation.
As Madhya Pradesh celebrates Diwali, this announcement serves as a meaningful gift to women across the state, symbolizing empowerment, equality, and economic inclusion. By enhancing financial aid and streamlining benefit distribution, the Ladli Behna Yojana continues to be a cornerstone of the state’s welfare policies and a step toward a more self-reliant future for women.
