A world champion kickboxer and Scotland rugby international attacked two bouncers outside a city centre bar.
Christianne Fahey, who played for Scotland in the Six Nations and is also a professional boxer, threw a punch at one of the men and tried to headbutt the other doorman, a court was told. A sheriff told Fahey she was a person who had great potential and had enjoyed a varied sporting career, but noted she had a record for violence.
Sheriff William Wood told Perth Sheriff Court: "The social work report reveals you are something of a colourful character. You were at university and then you were not at university. You played a variety of different sports and, on the face of it, you have the potential to achieve many things. It is about time you got a grip.

"You have been convicted of a number of violent incidents in the past - one of which you have been to prison for. Something may have happened on the night in question, and maybe the bouncers were heavy-handed, but they were doing a job.

"You need to step back instead of stepping forward. It wasn't that serious an incident, but they shouldn't have to put up with that in the course of their employment.
"You have now racked up a fair number of violent incidents and I need to mark this sentence as an alternative to custody. You are 34, but you still have all that potential."
Fahey from Aberdeen was placed under social work supervision for six months and ordered her to carry out 100 hours unpaid community work after she pleaded guilty to two charges of assault in Perth on February 2, this year.
Prosecutor Sarah High told the court: "The two complainers are employed as security at the Bank Bar. At 10.35pm they approached the accused to ask her to leave. The accused became aggressive and threw a punch to the chest of the first complainer. The second complainer tried to restrain the accused, and at that point the accused attempted to headbutt him.
"She was then successfully restrained by both complainers and the police were contacted. The accused was then cautioned and charged."
Solicitor Lynsey Barber, defending, said: "On the day in question, she was subject to a combination of factors - intoxication and poor mental health compounded things." Fahey was jailed for 22 months in 2019 after beating up her ex-girlfriend and another woman in Dundee and leaving them with permanent injuries.
