Bradley Walsh couldn't hide his disbelief after one contestant gave a baffling answer during Wednesday night's episode. The ITV host left both the studio and viewers in stitches after he delivered a hilarious four-word quip to a contestant during the latest episode of The Chase. Walsh was left gobsmacked when player Brendan gave a surprising answer to a seemingly straightforward question.
As part of the new run of episodes, contestants Lola, Matt, Rebecca and Brendan teamed up in hopes of taking down Chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis. Rebecca from Essex was second up to the podium after her teammate secured the first win of the day. Determined to play for what she'd earned, she refused the lower offer and faced Darragh head-on.
Darragh told her: "On principle I understand why you've done that. But mathematically, I think that was the wrong offer. I think the £1,000 was the right offer there but we'll see." Rebecca went on to prove him wrong, sailing through her head-to-head and adding £10,000 to the team's prize pot. But one question during her round caused an unexpected moment of chaos.
Bradley asked: "According to the Met Office, most snowflakes take around how long to reach the ground?" The possible answers were one minute, one hour or one day.
Rebecca confidently locked in one hour, while Bradley admitted he thought the answer was one minute. Turning to Brendan for his input, Rebecca was met with an answer that caught everyone off guard. Brendan replied: "A day."
In total disbelief, Bradley fired back with: "A day?! Have you been drinking?" The cheeky remark sent the studio audience into laughter, as even Brendan couldn't help but grin at the host's quick wit. Matt, another contestant, sided with Rebecca's choice of one hour, explaining: "It's not fast, and they're a long way up."
Moments later, Rebecca was proven right, and even Bradley had to laugh at himself, exclaiming: "An hour? Who knew? Really?" Rebecca returned to her teammates triumphant, while Matt followed with a £6,000 cash builder before opting to play it safe with £1,000. Lola was last to face The Chaser but unfortunately failed to make it through to the final chase.
