Former Coronation Street star Steven Arnold appeared to be tuned away from Ricky Hatton's funeral on Friday as mourners paid their respects to the boxing legend. The funeral took place at Manchester Cathedral and saw countless famous faces from TV, music, and sports turn up.

Hatton, who was found dead at home at the age of 46 last month, was one of Britian's most beloved boxers and won world titles in two weight divisions in his prime. Following a drive through Manchester, a service took place at the City's cathedral to honour his life. After the service, there was a stop-off at the Etihad Stadium, the home of Hatton's beloved Man City.

As guests made their way to the service, security were at the door making checks. A clip shown on Sky News shows former Coronation Street actor Arnold, who played Ashley Peacock in the soap, appearing to be stopped at the door while talking to several members of the security team and a member of staff who appeared to be checking a list. It's unclear if he was eventually turned away or not.

Arnold played the character in the Manchester-based Coronation Street for 15 years between 1995 and 2010. He has since appeared in several short films.

Former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney and Oasis' Liam Gallagher were among the guests at the service for Hatton. Several boxing legends, including Tyson Fury, Barry McGuigan, and Amir Khan, also attended.

Speaking at the funeral, Khan said: "He was a fantastic fighter, one of the best out there. He obviously inspired so many fighters like us.

"He'll be definitely remembered as one of the greatest to come out of Britain. Very jolly, very fun, a very respected person and very nice. He was always a people's champion.

"It's great to be here to see so many of the boxing community come together to show our respect. Hundreds on the streets - that shows he was a popular man."

Hatton's family also gave emotional eulogies as the boxing icon was laid to rest. Thousands turned out in the streets, which were lined with well-wishers as the cortege made its way from Stockport Road to the Cathedral, where the service was held. The boxer's closest friends and family then attended a private committal service.

Hatton, who reportedly is leaving a £35million fortune to his family, is survived by his three children, Campbell, 24, Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12.
