Kate Garraway breaks silence on Celebrity Traitors exit and shares subtle dig at co-star

Kate Garraway has opened up following her departure from last night's Celebrity Traitors, seizing the chance to have a playful swipe at a fellow contestant.

The presenter joined Good Morning Britain to talk about her elimination from the programme and admitted she was 'flabbergasted' by her exit, which appears to be a cheeky reference to her fellow Faithful, Tom Daley. She was voted out after securing the highest number of votes from her co-stars in yesterday's instalment.

Whilst she remains unaware of who ultimately triumphed in the competition, Kate harboured a "sneaky feeling" that Alan Carr would emerge victorious.

The presenter described participating in the show as a "complete reset" for her after enduring years of heartache following the passing of her husband, Derek Draper. "I've been as flabbergasted as anybody else, because you don't see what people are saying about you," she told Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray.

Kate continued: "I had a bit of fight in me," before Ranvir noted that their colleagues were "proud" of her. Responding to Jonathan Ross labelling her "physically weak and intellectually weak," Kate remarked: "He also, by the way, said morally weak - that's why I started laughing. I love Jonathan; he's just so brilliant. Yeah, weak in every sense!"

She revealed the programme was "really intense" and confessed it must have been "very tough" for the Traitors. "I was completely myself all the way through," she laughed, adding: "I thought I want to be a Faithful because then the only thing you have to worry about is you just don't have to lie or deceive.

"I'm going to say it again, flabbergasted that they were suspicious of me," she laughed again. Kate continued: "I thought I must be the least suspicious person in the world, I felt."

Looking back on Thursday's roundtable, Kate said she didn't take the decision to banish her personally.

"I'd lived genuine life or death, at the end of the day, this is a game and you know you're not really going to be murdered, life will go on," she said, adding: "I think it's very easy to take it personally because you feel really close really quickly to people in that tight environment. Like I was utterly bereft when Paloma [Faith], you know, was departing so early on because I loved her."

Kate's flabbergasted remark appeared to be a dig at her co-star, Tom Daley. The Olympic champion had previously taken a swipe at Kate for using the word throughout the show.

Taking to social media after he was eliminated, Tom was spotted wheeling his suitcase as he joked: "Well, I guess my flabbers were officially gasted". The celebrity was poking fun at himself after he mistakenly labelled Kate as a Traitor due to her extravagant and theatrical use of the word "flabbergasted".

However, as Alan astutely noted: "You can't just call someone a Traitor because they have a better vocabulary than you."
